Inspired by a workshop necklace taught by Sally Jean Alexander.
This My Heart Belongs To Paris statement necklace contains some of my favorite collected mixed media images, vintage porcelain doll parts and Silvergleem soldered glass. Much of this glass was cut by Mr. Sally Jean. See his website on Etsy for details. There is no toggle clasp as it can easily slip over your head. The chain is a soft silvery base metal and ample soldered glass charms at about the size of a quarter or more.
The two wonderful vintage German dollies (missing some parts) are soldered with rings and strung in place. Several crystals add a wonderful sparkle.
There is a glass perfume bottle adorned with metal charms and glitter then soldered cap with rings as part of the Eiffel Tower dangles.
The necklace measures approximately 36" in length in total. This is definitely a statement necklace with the size and weight to prove it..
The reverse side of each soldered charm has an illustration is of an amusement park near a beach and coordinating imagery. French ribbons tied into bows.

Susan Ray -
"My love of beads began 17 years ago. I am fascinated by the human story they tell, the nature of the beads, the hands that created and traded them.
This has led me from my early discovery of the vast history available and the opportunity to learn the skills required to create beautiful jewelry myself. I later opened the first bead store in Galena, Illinois and taught more than 20,000 women (and a few men) to bead.
As my knowledge grew I wanted to share it further and wrote five books about beading for the craft industry. Along the way I have made many dear friends and have been fortunate to be inspired by many leading designers. You can visit me here at OneHealingStone on Etsy or on Facebook at my jewelry designers group: Crafting Jewelry Inspiration."
